Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of mdedit.ai, app.mdedit.ai, the mdedit applications, APIs, hosted Model Context Protocol service, plugins, command-line tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service") provided by Mango App Studio. By creating an account, installing an integration, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Using the Service

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms and must provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in methods, connected applications, and access credentials secure. Notify us promptly at support@mdedit.ai if you believe your account or a connected application has been compromised.

Your content

You retain ownership of the Markdown Documents, files, comments, and other content you submit to the Service. You grant Mango App Studio the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, transmit, and display that content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service and to carry out actions you request.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights needed to upload, edit, share, or publish content and that your content and instructions comply with applicable law and these Terms.

Private documents and public links

Documents are private unless you or an authorized collaborator explicitly changes their visibility. Publishing creates a public link that may be opened by anyone who receives it. Review the document before publishing and avoid publishing confidential, personal, or restricted information. Unpublishing disables the mdedit public link, but it cannot remove copies that others already saved or shared.

Plugins, agents, and connected applications

When you connect mdedit to ChatGPT, Codex, a command-line client, or another supported host, you authorize that host to request the mdedit permissions shown during account linking. The connected host may read tool results and send your instructions and selected document content to mdedit to perform the actions you request.

  • Review the requested permissions before approving a connection.
  • A connected host may create or edit private documents only within its granted permissions.
  • Publishing and unpublishing require an explicit confirmation and the corresponding publishing permission.
  • You can disconnect the host or revoke account access; already issued access may remain valid briefly until its token expires.

Third-party hosts process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Mango App Studio does not control the host's models, chat history, retention, or use of information after mdedit returns an authorized tool result.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • Break the law or infringe another person's rights.
  • Upload or distribute malware, exploit code, abusive content, or content intended to harm people or systems.
  • Bypass access controls, probe accounts or data without authorization, or interfere with the Service.
  • Misrepresent your identity, automate abusive traffic, or evade usage limits.
  • Use public links to distribute unlawful, deceptive, or rights-infringing material.

We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the Service, or third parties, investigate suspected abuse, or comply with law.

Plans and payments

Some features require a paid plan. Prices, included usage, billing frequency, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. Fees are charged through the identified payment provider and are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at purchase. You can manage or cancel a subscription through the available account controls.

Third-party services

The Service may connect to third-party identity providers, AI providers, publishing destinations, payment processors, and agent hosts. Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or actions they take outside mdedit's control.

Service changes and availability

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We aim to operate the Service reliably, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Preview, beta, or developer-mode features may change and may not be suitable for critical workloads. Keep independent copies of content you cannot afford to lose.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described in our account deletion instructions. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, security risk, unlawful use, or prolonged non-payment. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Mango App Studio disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated or agent-assisted output may be incomplete or incorrect; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on, sharing, or publishing it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mango App Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities. Our total liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or 100 Canadian dollars. These limits do not apply where applicable law does not allow them.

Governing terms

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to Mango App Studio, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Mandatory consumer protections and rights available in your place of residence continue to apply. Before filing a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, or our operations. We will post the revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice when reasonably required. Continuing to use the Service after the revised Terms take effect means you accept them.
