Mobile app for Android
mdedit.ai for Android keeps your Markdown work moving away from your desk. Sign in with the same account you use on the web and desktop, open a recent article, and make a focused change on a layout built for small screens.
The mobile app is a companion to the web and desktop apps rather than a replacement. It keeps your library, drafts, and the essential editing controls close, and leaves the heavier publishing and repository surfaces to the larger apps.
Install
The listing is mdedit.ai, version 1.0.1, free, in the Productivity category.

Sign in and sync
Sign in with your existing mdedit.ai account. The app then shows the same workspaces and articles you see at app.mdedit.ai (opens in a new tab), and you can browse or search across them.
Open an article to read it, switch to the editor to change it, or switch to preview to see it rendered. Edits sync back to your workspace, so a change made on your phone is there when you return to the web or desktop app.
The app shows whether a document is saved or still waiting to sync, so you can confirm your work has landed before you close it. For the concepts behind save and sync states, see Offline and sync.
An mdedit.ai account is required for cloud articles and syncing.
Work offline
If your connection drops mid-sentence, the app keeps a local draft on the device. When you reconnect, that draft syncs to your workspace. You do not have to copy text out of the app or wait for signal before you start writing.

Open local Markdown files
You can open Markdown files stored on the device or handed over from another app, without signing in. Use the system file picker, or share a file to mdedit.ai from a file manager, mail client, or cloud storage app.
Local files are a good way to read a document someone sent you, or to check a file you keep in device storage, before you decide whether it belongs in a workspace.
Share a copy
Use the system share sheet to send a Markdown copy of the document you are reading to any app that accepts it: chat, mail, notes, or another editor. The share sheet sends the Markdown itself, so the recipient gets plain text they can open anywhere.
What renders in preview
Preview uses the same Markdown feature set you know from the web app:
- Headings and standard formatting
- Fenced code blocks with syntax highlighting
- Tables
- Math
- Mermaid diagrams
- Graphviz diagrams
- Local images
Collaboration
